Benjamin E. Ladd

Ben represents businesses of all sizes and types in their most important transactions, entity governance, family succession planning, and general corporate matters. Ben is fortunate to serve as outside general counsel to several regional businesses.

Ben has substantial national and regional experience counseling both buyers and sellers regarding mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, joint ventures, real estate leasing and purchase/sale transactions, as well as borrowers and lenders in complex loan transactions. He also has represented developers of energy (renewable and fossil fuel), mineral, chemical, and other infrastructure projects. Ben also regularly advises his clients on important commercial and supply-chain agreements.

Ben has a legal and business background that allows him to provide unique value to his clients.  He began his legal career on the East Coast with an international law firm, during which he lived in Houston, TX for 9 months on secondment to an international oil and gas trading firm. In 2015, Ben moved to California with his wife to farm almonds and citrus with her fifth-generation Fresno County family.  Before practicing with the firm, Ben served as General Counsel and VP of Operations for a vertically integrated citrus company in California.

Given that Ben and his wife are growers themselves, Ben particularly enjoys counseling agricultural businesses.  Ben understands the substantial challenges facing growers, packers, and shippers in California.  He employs all his experience and determination to help his agribusiness clients achieve their goals.

In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with his family and exercising rigorously.
